Series
“Spellwork” by Frances F. Denny is a photographic series that explores the intersection of childbirth, motherhood, and magic. The images, created using flowers, personal items, and childlike play elements, evoke themes of birth, fragility, and the mother-child dynamic, blending artistic creation with ritualistic symbolism.
Frances Denny’s “Let Virtue Be Your Guide” is a photographic exploration of female identity through generations. By focusing on her family’s New England roots, Denny challenges traditional notions of femininity, revealing the complexities and contradictions within a seemingly privileged lineage.
“Pink Crush” is a photographic exploration of the nostalgic appeal of 80s and 90s girlie-girl aesthetics.
Frances Denny’s “Major Arcana: Witches in America” is a groundbreaking photographic series that explores the diverse identities and practices of modern-day witches. Denny captures the resilience and empowerment of these individuals, challenging stereotypes and redefining the term “witch” in the context of contemporary feminism.
