I met Joseph Desler Costa on a warm September morning and discovered that he approached the world of art starting with music in Pittsburgh when, still a boy, he sang and played guitar with a group of friends. Over time, they formed a band, and Costa used a camera to make CD cases for the group. In the early 90s Costa went to college to study literature and, at the same time, deepened his passion for photography. Finally, working as a photographer’s assistant, Costa learned the trade of commercial photography. In 2005, Costa moved to NYC, where from 2010 to 2012, he completed an MFA in photography, and he has been a professional photographer ever since.
