Lissa Rivera artist lecture at LUCAD

Lissa Rivera will speak at Lesley University College of Art and Design in Cambridge, MA, on Thursday, 12.01.2016, at 12:00 pm:

Focal Point is proud to present 2006 BFA Photography Alumni Lissa Rivera. After attending Art Institute of Boston (former LUCAD), Rivera continued her education, receiving her MFA in Photography, Video and Related Media from The School of Visual Arts in 2009. Rivera is interested in photography’s connection with identity in her recent work “Beautiful Boy”, where Lissa focuses on her domestic partner as muse.

Rivera is represented by ClampArt, New York, and has been featured in several publications including “25 Under 25 Up-and-Coming American Photographers” (PowerHouse Books), curated by Silvia Plachy. She was chosen as a “Woman to Watch” for the biennial exhibition at the National Museum of Woman in Arts. In 2016 Rivera received the The Peter Urban Legacy Award in the Griffin Museum Juried Show and was also a recipient of Feature Shoot’s Emerging Photography Award.
