“Jesse Burke: Wild & Precious” at RISD MuseumImage: Installation of “Jesse Burke: Wild & Precious” at the RISD Museum.

Jesse Burke’s exhibition of work from his “Wild & Precious” series opens at the RISD Museum in Providence, Rhode Island on January 22, 2016, and runs through September 25, 2016:

Encompassing landscape, portraiture, and still-life photography, “Wild & Precious” presents photographs by Jesse Burke (RISD MFA 2005, Photography) made over the past five years while traveling across the United States and around his native New England with his daughter Clover. Through images depicting Clover’s encounters with diverse landscapes and wildlife, Burke provides a tender meditation on nature, childhood, and parental love.

The exhibition celebrates the release of Burke’s book, also titled “Wild & Precious,” and a gift of artwork from the series to the RISD Museum.

Support for “Jesse Burke: Wild & Precious” is provided in part by a grant from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, through an appropriation by the Rhode Island General Assembly and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
