ClampArt is pleased to announce that Louie Palu’s photograph, “U.S. Marine Gunnery Sergeant Carlos ‘OJ’ Orjuela, age 31, Garmsir, Helmand, Afghanistan,” from his series of portraits of marines in Afghanistan is now in the permanent collection of the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC.
Palu’s photograph was one of the main images used to promote the exhibition, “War/Photography: Images of Armed Conflict and Its Aftermath,” which originated at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and traveled to the Annenberg Space for Photography in Los Angeles; the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC; and then the Brooklyn Museum in New York.
