From Kara Bischopink’s article for Musée Magazine:
Age participates in a cultural exchange between young and old as intergenerational relationships bridge the gap between the two, where the young learns from the old and the old learns from the young. Arlene Gottfried’s Young & Old explores the dichotomy between the two age groups, as their lived, everyday experiences — shaped by proximity, humor and unguarded moments — reveal how generations mirror, challenge and complete one another. On view through May 2, 2026, at CLAMP in New York City, the exhibition brings together portraits of young children and elders. Gottfried’s photographs explore age as a fluid, elastic and emotionally resonant entity rather than a fixed number.
