It took me five years to develop How to Dance the Waltz, and some of the images come from my archive, including photographs from a prom in Ukraine in 2008. The series follows military boarding schools, matador schools, and prom week at an at-risk youth program, exploring the relationship between youth and uniforms and the tension between individual identity and collective appearance shaped by dress codes.
