Family photography has marked the history of photography as the SLR camera and the 35mm reel became common consumer items. Four American photographers have made it the matrix of their work, between long-term documentary reporting, daily chronicles, and bittersweet fables. Their names are Marianna Rothen, Meryl Meisler, Peggy Levison Nolan, and Shelby Lee Adams. The “American Families” exhibition brings them together on the walls of the gallery from March 22 to May 25. Polka is happy to include them among their represented artists.
