The Friedrichshain Photo Gallery presents Meryl Meisler’s first European solo exhibition. The New York photographer and long-time art teacher in Bushwick, Brooklyn, is traveling to Berlin for the first time on the occasion of her 70th birthday thanks to the support of the Checkpoint Charlie Foundation. Her work from the 1970s and 1980s draws a sharp contrast between the difficult social conditions on the streets of Brooklyn and the glamorous, excessive nightlife of the disco era.
