From the dxiland. post concerning the exhibition “Headshots: Contemporary Photographic Portraiture,” at ClampArt:

Recently, an iconic and familiar work in 1986 by David Robbins, ‘Talent’ has been at the Whitney Museum in New York, with eighteen portraits of important visual artists of the moment (Jeff Koons Cindy Sherman). The project inspires reflection on the formality and convention portrait in terms of framing, lighting, etc. With this premise ClampArt (New York) presented ‘Headshots: Contemporary Photographic Portraiture’, a group exhibition that explores the practice through a wide range of contemporary photographic portraits by a wide array of artists, from a world leader to an anonymous woman. The exhibition concluded last April 2.
