Photographer and artist Nancy Burson‘s work constantly challenges photographic truth, using various forms of manipulation to create surreal, illusive imagery. The 1982 “10 Businessmen from Goldman Sachs” is one of her earliest composite photographs, using a method which later became christened “morphing”. Through her patented process, the portrait is made up of multiple faces superimposed and averaged together, resulting in a new, amalgamated identity drawn from the multitude.
