In one of the very first self-portraits, Jen Davis is shown sitting on a beach. Around her are young, slim people wearing swimsuits, while Jen Davis sits in both shorts and undershirt. The image is called ‘Pressure Point’. “I have always found it difficult to talk about my body, about being fat and how it affected me—how I fit into a society with very different ideals of beauty. But the camera helped me with all of that,” says Jen Davis.
