Travis was lighting her cigarette, when over his shoulder, she caught sight of her intended, Charlie, in an intimate embrace with her imagined rival, Claudette. Her eyes filled with tears as she fled the premises, losing one shoe in the waves of her evening wrap flowing behind her as weeping. She made her hasty departure.
