Arthur King

Arthur King began photographing New York City between 1955 and 1958 while studying Industrial Design at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. The negatives he shot were then lost for nearly forty years. When they were rediscovered, the artist was suddenly and dramatically reconnected not only to his own past, but to the city’s past as well.

Arthur King’s work has been exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions, and his photographs are in the permanent collection of the Museum of the City of New York.
