From Céline Lesage’s article for Art Media Agency:
Clamp gallery now represents the estate of Arlene Gottfried, a New York street photographer known for her portraits of the city’s working-class neighbourhoods.
Born in 1950 and deceased in 2017, Arlene Gottfried graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology. She received several awards, including the Berenice Abbott International Competition for Women in Documentary Photography. Her photographs are held in collections of the Brooklyn Museum, New York Public Library and New-York Historical, which acquired 300 of her images.
