KAWS (b. 1974, Jersey City, NJ) is a New York–based artist whose work spans painting, sculpture, and large-scale public projects. Blurring the boundaries between fine art and popular culture, his iconic figures and reimagined cartoon characters explore themes of consumption, nostalgia, and global visual language. His work is held in major museum collections and has been exhibited internationally.
