Kenneth Price was a groundbreaking American artist renowned for his innovative ceramic sculptures that redefined the boundaries of the medium. Born in Los Angeles in 1935, Price’s artistic journey began early, shaped by his family’s encouragement of his creativity and his exposure to Mexican folk pottery and surfing culture.
Price honed his skills at the Chouinard Art Institute and Otis Art Institute, where he studied under the influential ceramic artist Peter Voulkos. He earned his BFA from the University of Southern California in 1956 and an MFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 1959.
