His work encompasses a range of genres, including portraits, still lifes, landscapes, and interior scenes, often featuring lush plants, ceramics, and sports imagery. He frequently collaborates with his wife, ceramicist Shio Kusaka, incorporating her ceramic works into his compositions. Wood has held solo exhibitions at institutions such as the Dallas Museum of Art and Museum Voorlinden in the Netherlands, and his work is included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and the Guggenheim Museum.
