Saul Leiter was an American photographer and painter. He began experimenting with color photography in New York in the late 1940s using slide film such as Kodachrome. His images revealed radically innovative compositions and a groundbreaking mastery of color that permanently changed the history of the medium. He is often associated with the New York school of post-war photography.
