Swoon (Caledonia Curry, b. 1977) is an American artist best known for her pioneering role in street art and for her large-scale, intricately cut paper portraits that she first wheat-pasted on walls in New York City in the early 2000s. Working across drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and immersive installation, she often combines personal narratives with social and political themes, addressing issues such as community, trauma, and collective healing. Beyond her gallery and museum work, Swoon has led collaborative projects around the world, including building floating sculptural rafts that traveled down rivers and spearheading community-based initiatives in Haiti and New Orleans. Her work is represented in major museum collections such as the Museum of Modern Art, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Tate.
