Richard James Lillis (1899–1994) was an American illustrator best known for his pulp magazine covers during the 1920s–40s. Trained at the Art Students League under the likes of Norman Rockwell and Kenneth Hayes Miller, he later turned to expressive watercolors inspired by John Singer Sargent and Winslow Homer.
