David Ian Xtravaganza was an important member of the House of Xtravaganza who helped to spread ballroom and vogueing culture into the mainstream. He served as the “Master of Ceremonies” at the 1989 Love Ball, a celebrity fundraiser for AIDS relief, which included figures like Thierry Mugler, Iman, Keith Haring, Julian Schnabel, and Leigh Bowery. David served as the House father from 1989-1993. He passed away from AIDS complications in 1996.
