Stephan Brigidi is an American photographer, artist, and author whose work is deeply rooted in social observation and a unique, orchestrated approach to image-making. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Brigidi received his MFA at the Rhode Island School of Design, where he studied under influential photographers Harry Callahan and Aaron Siskind. A Fulbright-Hays fellow and recipient of numerous grants, he has spent extensive time in Italy, exploring his own heritage and capturing the country’s social and cultural landscape. Brigidi’s photography is often described as deliberate and purposeful, focusing on collaborative projects that examine humanity, commonalities, and social justice. He has authored or collaborated on several books, including “Angels of Pompeii” and “ROME 1970s,” and his work is held in the collections of over 30 museums in the U.S. and Europe.
