Cy DeCosse (b. 1929) is a multi-talented American artist and photographer renowned for his exquisite still-life images of nature and food. After a successful career as an art director and the founder of a popular publishing company specializing in “how-to” books, DeCosse returned to his passion for photography. He is widely celebrated for his mastery of 19th-century photographic printing techniques, such as platinum/palladium and gum dichromate, which give his prints a unique, painterly quality. His work focuses on capturing the quiet beauty of everyday objects, from flowers and vegetables to garden gates, and is held in prestigious collections, including the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
