Born in Peekskill, New York, Dannielle Tegeder received her BFA in 1994 from the State University of New York at Purchase, and her MFA in 1997 from the School of The Art Institute of Chicago. In the decades since, Tegeder’s drawings and paintings have exhibited nationally and internationally, at institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the New Museum, and the Brooklyn Museum, New York City; in addition to the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; and many others. While drawing and painting remain at the core of her work, in recent years Tegeder’s practice has expanded to include sculptural objects, video, animation, sound, and large-scale installations.
