Untitled (Torso)

Liliane De Cock Morgan began shooting landscape imagery with a 4 x 5-inch camera under the tutelage of Ansel Adams, whom she assisted from 1963-1972. She was first recommended to Adams by photographer Brett Weston for a short-term position spotting prints. She soon became a vital part of the West Coast fine art photography world before continuing her career in the New York area.

De Cock won numerous awards over the span of her career, including a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1972. Her photographs were exhibited in important solo exhibitions at the George Eastman House (1970), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1971), and the Amon Carter Museum (1973).
