Goro Kumagai was a Japanese printmaker celebrated for his serene woodcuts and lithographs. A graduate of Musashino Art University, he developed a refined visual language of simplified forms, muted tones, and recurring motifs of birds, fish, and quiet still lifes. His work was exhibited internationally from the 1960s onward and is held in major collections including the National Gallery of Art and the Art Institute of Chicago.
