Robert Doisneau, Tattooed Man
Man with Tattooed Forehead

Robert Doisneau, along with Henri Cartier-Bresson, was a pioneer of photojournalism, known for his humanist images of street life in Paris as well as his commercial photography and images of France during the Second World War. Doisneau is perhaps best known for his famous 1950 photograph, “Le baiser de l’ôtel de ville (Kiss by the Town Hall),” which shows a couple kissing on a busy Parisian street.
