Rachel Barrett (b. 1981) is a Brooklyn-based photographic artist and visual storyteller. Her work is deeply rooted in personal memory, nostalgia, and the exploration of social and cultural identity. Using photography to memorialize the present and preserve the past, Barrett creates evocative images that often examine how individuals define themselves within a community or a specific place. She is known for her projects that document back-to-the-land communities and, more recently, for her studio-based still lifes. Barrett’s photographs have been exhibited internationally and are the recipient of numerous awards, including the Tracey Baran Award and a Tierney Fellowship. Her work is featured in several publications and public collections.
