“I have always dreamed how amazing it would be to photograph ‘The Kármán Line’ – the altitude at which earth becomes space. I was walking across the George Washington Bridge one evening and the last rays of sun were creating a large shadow on the Hudson River caused by the surrounding cliffs, clouds, and bridge. The sun was reflecting off of the bridge, creating little “stars” on the surface of the water. I turned my camera upside down and saw what looked like my dream of what the the Kármán Line would look like in person. The earth seemed to be surrendering to space within the waters of the Hudson. No sky is photographed in any of these pictures; all of the images are single, high-contrast shots (no composites) taken from atop the George Washington Bridge during a special time of day.”
