John Bailly’s “Place of Mind” at the University of Maine Museu

A solo show of John Bailly’s “Place of Mind,” his collaboration with acclaimed Cuban-American poet Richard Blanco, opens April 5th, 2013 at the University of Maine Museum of Art, running concurrently with UMMA’s second I-95 Triennial: From Connecticut to Maine. The artworks composing “Place of Mind” include maps of various cities, figurative elements, random images, and hand-drawn text that are visual responses to Blanco’s poems.

The Triennial offers “a unique glimpse into the diversity of contemporary creative practice by artists from five New England states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.”
